In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
(God, not gods)
Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and One sat on the throne.
And Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is, ‘Hear, O Israel; the Lord our God is one Lord:
Acts 19:5 (refer to Mark 12:29)
When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
(Name; singular / One name for the Lord)
“I and my Father are one.”
(Jesus and God are One)
“Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.”
(God is One)
“Who being the brightness of His glory, and the express image of His person…”
(Person, not persons)
You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe-and tremble!
(One God, even demons know this and fear Him)
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
(God and His Word are One)
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
(God came down and dwelt amongst us as Jesus Christ)
He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not.
(Jesus is God manifested in flesh, God made the world)
“And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one:”
(Jesus and God are One)
‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams.
(My Spirit; singular)
“You shall not make for yourself a carved image – any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth;
You shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me.
But showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.”
Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.'”
(Lord not “lords”, Him not “them”)
1 Timothy 3:16
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
